  1. Where did you get that from. I ordered 10 cheap ones from Webber but they then cancelled the order and put their prices up.
  2. Thanks for all the replies fellas. Doing a leg of lamb tomorrow so while the books are on their way any good online recipes for that?
  3. Looks great. I've done brisket, pork shoulder and the usual so far. Decent outcomes but I'm def missing a good rub and more subtle elements of the cook. So was was wondering if anyone has any good recipe book recommendations for beginners?
  4. Only 1k, so a fairly small one
  5. Cured the AK this afternoon and looking to do a brisket tomorrow. 110 for 4 hrs, turn another 4 and then wrapped in foil in a cold box. Any tips as I know it's a tricky cut. I've done a simple run.
  6. Just wondering how delivery of the AK is going for others in Wales? Ordered mine on the 26th and haven't even had a dispatch email yet.
  7. I was so close to getting the Summit but in the end the price tag just made me think twice. Nice bit of kit?
  8. Had a slightly pointless email to say that things are on track and it'll be dispatched when it was meant to be dispatched........But not quite yet.
  9. Hey Simon here from Church Village, just north of Cardiff. Started my BBQ journey about 5 yrs ago with the purchase of a Master Touch. Fantastic bit of kit and really made a huge difference to bbq parties from then on. Feedback has given me a drive to take it all to the next leve! Just purchased the AK. Haven't really tried much slow cooking or smoking etc so ready to spend a bit of time to get that right. Really get excited by BBQing to a level people generally don't get. They'll often say to me 'Come on mate have a sit down and take a break from the BBQ' not realising that I'd much rather be tong in hand than sat down talking about everyone's kids! Looking forward to sharing my fails and pics in the coming months! Simon
  10. Ha good call! I almost bought the Summit, now that would have taken some explaining!
  11. Any point in getting some good quality steel plates, especially made for the AK?
  12. I always liked the Weber Briquettes, burn well and no chemical taste. Their firelighters are great too.
  13. I don't think the thermometer is due to come til the end of May - I've got a little one I use. I don't suppose the AK will come much sooner than the 9th May anyway.
  14. Oh yep I got a couple of bags of that - doesn't seem to be much about at the moment. Amazon def the best bet - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07QK87785/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Also bought a book to read before it arrives, so I have some kind of clue what I'm doing - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1617691585/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
